The Great Competition was first ever bodybuilding competition organized by Sandow on September 14, 1901. The competition was held in the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK. Judged by himself, Sir Charles Lawes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the contest was a great success and with a capacity crowd many bodybuilding enthusiasts were turned away.

Then on 16 January 1904, the first large-scale bodybuilding competition in America took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The father of physical culture and publisher of the original bodybuilding magazines including Health & Strength, Bernarr Macfadden, promoted the event.

1-Larry Scott:


He won the 1965 Mr. Olympia competition and became first ever Mr. Olympia. He won second time in 1966. He was also winner of Mr. Universe 1964 and Mr. America 1962. He is still remembered as The Legend & The Golden Boy.

2- Phil Heath:


He won Mr. Olympia title 5th time in 2015 and is current Mr. Olympia. He is also a genius along with being an extra ordinary bodybuilder. He did his degree with double majors from the University of Denver in Colorado on a full scholarship. His majors were information technology & business administration.

He also played as shooting guard for Denver's Division I basketball team during his university time.

3- Ronnie Coleman:


As bodybuilder his achievements are unbelievable. He won Mr. Olympia 8 times. He has most wins as IFBB pro on his credit that is record. He is widely regarded as the greatest bodybuilder of all times.

4- Jay Cutler:


Three times Arnold Classic winner, four times Mr. Olympia runner up and four times Mr. Olympia winner is what makes him a living legend of bodybuilding.

5- Lee Haney:


He won 8 Mr. Olympia titles and shares this record with Ronnie Coleman. He graduated in child psychology from Southern Methodist University. He was appointed chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports by President Bill Clinton.

6- Sergio Oliva:


He was the only Hispanic in history to win Mr. Olympia. The character Biscuit Oliva in the Japanese manga and anime Baki the Grappler was closely based on Oliva's real-life personality and appearance. He was famous as The Myth.

7-Franco Columbu:


He won Mr. Olympia contest twice in 1976 and 1981. Even before winning titles he was famous as worlds strongest man. He and Arnold Schwarzenegger are very good friends. He competed in Mr. Olympia competition under 200 lbs. category while Arnold competed in above 200 lbs. category.

8-Frank Zane:


He got fame for having the second thinnest waistline in Mr. Olympia history and becoming Mr. Olympia thrice in 1977, 1978 and 1979.His abdominals were also considered as one of the best in bodybuilding history.

He was author of several books on bodybuilding and was inducted into the 1st annual Joe Weider Hall of Fame. Due to his dedication and long-time support for bodybuilding he was awarded the Arnold Schwarzenegger lifetime achievement award at the 2003 Arnold Classic.

9-Chris Dickerson:


His achievements in bodybuilding are unbelievable. He was famous for his heavily muscled, symmetrical physique and for his skills on the posing dais. Dickerson's competitive career spanned thirty years and he was one of the world's most titled bodybuilders.

He was inducted in IFBB Hall of Fame in 2000. He retired from bodybuilding in 1994 and now resides in Florida.

10-Samir Bannout:


Known as "the Lion of Lebanon", Samir Bannout won the Mr. Olympia title in 1983. The extreme muscular definition that Bannout achieved in his lower back region helped to shape "Lebanon Cedar" when referring the shape made visible during a back pose on the competition stage. His professional career lasted 17 years.

11-Dorian Yates:


He was famous as The Shadow because he used to unexpectedly appear in major bodybuilding contests and win them. He is widely considered as one of the top athletes in bodybuilding history because he holds the fourth-highest number of Mr. Olympia awards of all time.

He won Mr. Olympia six times. His overall professional record consists of 15 major contest wins and two second place finishes.

12-Mike Mentzer:


Famous for his rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger and achievements in bodybuilding, he was one of the most intelligent bodybuilders of history. He was a bodybuilder, businessman, author & philosopher. With the first and only perfect score of 300 he won Mr. Universe in Acapulco, Mexico in 1978.

Then he became a pro bodybuilder. Again in 1979, he won the heavyweight class of the Mr. Olympia, with a perfect score of 300, but in the overall he lost to Frank Zane who was awarded the title for a third time that year. He was inducted into IFBB Hall of Fame in 2002.

13- Lee Labrada:


Famous for his outstanding fitness courses at the age of 55, Lee Labarada is one of the worlds most well-known and celebrated bodybuilding legends. Along with IFBB Mr. Universe he holds 22 professional bodybuilding titles.

Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is one of the few pro bodybuilders in history to consistently have placed in the top four at the Mr. Olympia competition (the Super Bowl of bodybuilding) for seven consecutive years.

14-Charles Clairmonte:


Metaphorically it is said that Clairmonte swept through the European NABBA federation like a tornado through a trailer park, winning everything from the European Championships to the Mr. Universe four times to the World Championships. He also won four Grand Prix contests in 1993.

15-Vince Taylor:


He made his name in Guinness Records by winning 22 IFBB titles. This record was later on broken by eight times Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman with 26 wins. Taylor also has the record of the most Masters Olympia titles with five (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000,2001).

He competed in 2007 Arnold Classic & stood 10th. He has also appeared in several training videos such as "Vince Taylor Workout - "Getting Pumped"" and "Beyond the Masters".

16-Arnold Schwarzenegger:


He is the biggest icon of bodybuilding. His legacy is commemorated in the Arnold Classic annual bodybuilding competition. He won Mr. Olympia 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1980 along with several other bodybuilding competitions.
