It took me a while to write this because I simply couldn't believe he is gone. I never thought that he will go out like this. Such a shock and a very big loss to the fitness industry.
Many people ask who he was or what he did? Was he a movie star or some kinda celebrity. I tell them, "He was the ultimate definition of the word MAN". Many people have superheroes like Batman, Superman, Thor, Wolverine or from anime series such as Naruto or Goku from DragonBall Z.
But I had Greg Plitt. He was a living superhero! An inspiration to millions of people around the world not just in the fitness indusrty but also in other industries and paths of life. He had a really big influence on their live and helped them change their life for betterment.
Many people are thinking that he was just a body builder who was goofing around the tracks and died. But that is because they don't know who he was or what he did.
So for those of you who did not know who he was, Greg Plitt was the best Fitness model in the industry. But he was much more than that. He was into fitness and sports from a very young age. Infact he was a two-time All-American wrestler and a graduate of West Point Military Academy. He was then a Ranger in the U.S. Army, a former Army captain and company commander of 184 soldiers, and a PRO-rated skydiver with more than 1500 jumps to date.
I've seen many fitness models and body builders who are just into working out, but he was much much more than that. Was educated and then serving your country. None of the fitness models today have done anything like this or are doing. He was truly one of a kind.
Here is a little video of his that sums him up perfectly! This used to be the opening video of his website.
But then after 5 years he left the army and started in the fitness. He has been on more than 250 magazine covers! More than any other fitness model. And apart from that he has been on about 25 romance novel covers.
This just shows that he was considered that best for a reason. Always in shape and living life to the fullest. Many people just talk about living the life they want, but he was truly living the the life he wanted.
Here is a video of a day in his life. And it was indeed spectacular.
I wasn't much into fitness. Usually it was just a fun activity with my buddies in the summer vacations to pass the time and hangout. But then one day my friend showed a picture of him and i was completely blown away by his physique. As soon as i got home i searched about him and started to learn more about him.
Then a couple of days later after gym me and my friends were just talking and the same friend showed me a video of his and I was amazed even more. Here is that very video that got me hooked and wanting more. And this shows that his physique was truly one of a kind!
But he was much more than just a fitness model. He was an inspiration, role model and a source of the best kind of motivation. He touched peoples lives and helped them get through the journey that bring about the change in your life, the journey that is really tough. But with his support and motivation anything is possible!
He has not only motivated guys around the world but also the women around the world who wanted to transform themselves. Here are two testimonial videos of his and how he touched peoples lives and changed them.
His motivation and quotes were truly unique. His way of motivating and challenging people to get out of their comfort zone and go through adversity to achieve their goals were honest and to the point. No extra BS, no short cuts, no useless mumbo jumbo just words of pure encouragement and motivation.
Here is a collection of his words of wisdom and motivation and makes you just get up and go that extra mile.
He was much more than a fitness model. He was a loving person who loved changing people's lives and helping them towards betterment. Just hear this in his own words, how much it meant to him changing people's lives.
He was the ultimate definition of the word MAN! He could do just about everything on his own, he was the ultimate warrior that we only see in movies or cartoon! This can be seen in this video where he transforms his backyard.
From his backyard to his kitchen. They guy could do just about everything. Including COOK! And the way he cooked was healthy and exquisite. You can get a tasty and healthy snack. Here is a preview from his members section cookbook video
From doing everything on his own to doing them with his dad. He loved his family. And would always make time for them when ever he can and do activities with them. Here you can see him transform his outdoor living space into something spectacular with his dad and you can see the happiness on his face upon working with his dad.
Apart from his love for his family everyone knew about Greg's love for animals, especially his precious pit bull puppies Gunner, Zepplin and the late Quest. He also supported charities such as Lynda Blair Worldheart Foundation.
Here you can see a truly different side of him when his dog Quest was put down. A side we have never seen. Guess even the toughest men have a soft side.
No matter how much I talk about him it will never be enough. We will never forget Greg for everything he has done and his legacy will live on forever! All we can do is remember him in our prayers and do what he wanted us to do, that is to follow through and be the best person he believed that we could be.
In the end I would like to leave a tribute video in honor of our fallen hero. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. You will always be in our heart! You will always be REMEMBERED!
